5th World Firefighters Games; Durban, South Africa
17 to 23 May 1998
The hotels on the Durban beachfront proved a picturesque setting for the Durban Games. The opening ceremony was an outstanding cultural performance and ideal weather conditions prevailed as athletes competed in their events. Athletes and visitors experienced a 'taste of South Africa' whilst devouring the cuisine offered by the hosts. An added bonus was the safari tours and the experience of seeing the animals 'up close and personal'.
