7th World Firefighters Games; Christchurch,
NewZealand
26 October to 2 November 2002
Following the controversy surrounding the cancellation of
the Brisbane Games, the torch was passed on to Christchurch just 12 months prior
to the staging of the 2002 Games. Christchurch handled the challenge admirably
with the organisation of events being of a high professional standard. Participants
of the Christchurch Games experienced the same friendliness and warm hospitality
as that extended by the people of Auckland during the 1990 Games and in the
usual tradition, a thoroughly good time was had by all those who attended.
Toughest Firefighter Alive
